Have you ever asked yourself when looking at a castle why our ancestors built such an impressive structure? How was it built and what might the castle have once looked like? We want to find out! With our ambitious project we want to bring the nucleus of a medieval castle back to life.
Using historical construction and settlement techniques, we will reconstruct the creation of a residential and fortress complex and revive it true to the original from the start. Can we possibly learn something from the past today? Everyone can join in and get involved.
No matter whether in construction, the gardens or in planning and organization. We’re building a castle! Join in!
Update 08.2024 We will revise and update our website and the individual topics in the next few weeks. A lot has happened in the last 2 years of our project. The research work in the area of “construction/construction technology/architectural style in the Wetterau” has produced great results. We have set up our own small “library” with around 90 specialist books and scientific texts and our clothing and plants working groups should better publish their work. So stay tuned and check back with us from time to time.
